3

DAY 3: CHOQUEQUIRAO

this wonder was never met by the spaniards, and it was probably one of the royal inca states and the entrance to the jungle region of vilcabamba, with an extension almost as large as machu picchu and possibly a more beautiful location. we will appreciate the finesse of the inca architecture and discover many constructions that are still buried by vegetation.  after exploring the site we could wait to see the flight of the condors that hang around looking for food.

4

DAY 4: CHOQUEQUIRAO - CORIHUAYRACHINA

after having breakfast, we will cross the mountain where choquequirao is located, to start our descent to the next valley, and eventually ascend again to our next camping site. very close to the recently discover archaeological site of corihuayrachina, we will pass trough the terraces of pincha unuyoq, still covered by the density of the andean forest. pincha unuyoq was an alternative agricultural center that supported choquequirao.

5

DAY 5: CORIHUAYRACHINA – YANAMA

we will wake up very early to visit corihuayrachina, a place discovered by a 1999 expedition. we will continue our ascent trough the foliage until reaching our first pass. close to this pass we will see the ancient inca trails and one of the inca silver mines. after having lunch close to the peak (approximately 4000 meters, 14.500 feet) we will descend to ' the garden' where we will see countless flowers under cliffs and ridges, one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

6

DAY 6: YANAMA – LA PUERTA

after having breakfast we will prepare to descend to the second pass, while walking on a relaxed and peaceful trail with views of glaciers and waterfalls until we are surrounded by snow-capped mountains. we will eventually arrive at la puerta, also known as the pass, it will feel like being on top of the world. after crossing la puerta we will descend to a big meadow on the banks of a river stream.

7

DAY 7: LA PLAYA

good news for this day, after a gentile descent we will have the chance to take a hot water swim in the place where we will have lunch. the water emerges from the rocks and your body will thank it. afterwards we will be on our way to our next camp site in the small town of la playa (the beach).
